Another victory, this time repeating last year`s first place at the x-over rider 3* freeride world qualifier at the kitzsteinhorn in austria!
In great spring snow everyone had a great comp! A fluid and really clean line got me on top of the podium, with a nice drop in the middle. And - the party was one of the better ones of the season as well ......

it was a perfect day at the ski resort bergbahnen rosshütte in seefeld thursday this week.
a crew of 13 friends help us fullfil the dream to be the first BASE jumpers ever to jump from the härmelekopfbahn, with a total of 21 cameras in place to catch all the action on video. while obviously being illegal and the resort not knowing about our plans, we made sure not to leave any trace, ot to damage anything or to put anyone in danger - which we all managed to do.
the planing of the jumps took up a long time: entering the gondola without raising attention, a super scetchy landing in a narrow riverbed, an exact getaway plan for us and the filmcrew and much more had to be considered.

by the way - the resort did not even notivce our jump and was informed before the video went online. and guess what? their first action was to put it on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rosshuette?fref=ts).....HELLO TO WHISTLER FROM AUSTRIA ((-:

In very difficult conditions in managed to lay down a clean and fast run at the open faces comp at the hochjoch resort. With spring conditions but not much sun at the same time it was hard to find good snow.
I am now leadig the austrian freeride series with quite a distance, but there are 2 more events to go......

stooooked about winning my home event AGAIN after 2013.
what a day in hochfügen!
after a mediocre result in engadin at the 3* on thursday (5th place after a mistake at the very end of my run) i finally got a super clean run down at the "ostwand" in hochfügen to take home the first victory of the season!
conditions were not easy with 10 cm of powder on top of changeable snow, so riding with 90 percent rather than 110 was the right tactic today. find my run here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH8Z2xUKvuc
chasing the top after 3 events on the freeride world tour 2014.
the last event of the europen events on the freeride world tour was our home event in fieberbrunn. BUT because of the super low tide snow conditions this winter in the northern alps the event could not take place on the beautiful wildseeloder. the 50 cm of the last snowfall a week before the event fell on a sugary base, and after 2 days of crazy winds it was all hardpack. when they guides went to check the face on the day before the event, a big slide went down right next to the start in the steepest part of the face, making a comp pretty much impossible.
So the whole event was moved to the resort of kappl, 1 hour west of innsbruck. the face there had been used for a 2 star event before and was not bad, only that i had nur 67 – last rider on the mountain...... This made it not easy to perfom well, but after a fluid line with nice drops and unfortunately one handdrag at the very last cliff i managed to make the best of it and finished 5th, putting my on 5th in the overall ranking.
in courmayeur i had a good start but hit a hard chunk slowing down and could not make it to my main feature any more )-: so i had to improvise the bottom part of my run after that, resulting in 7th place overall.
the first event of the 2014 fwt was kicking off today in teh afternoon, and the first 8 skiers had surprisingly good snow conditions of the venue. the face is actually a compromis, we could call it plan "c". last year`s face has not enough snow and for the face used in 2011 and 12 the access is unsafe because of the high avalanche danger.

we are gonna work & raise our kids for a few years, before buying a new boat to set sail again in 2018. we wanna start where we stopped last time (around tonga) and will stay on board for longer, 5 years, maybe more, who konws??
